The Boken is a practice weapon for the Japanese sword arts. This weapon was used primarily for sparring and kata training. However, a boken itself is quite an effective weapon on it own. In the hands of an experienced kendo master a boken can be just as exact and devastating as an actual sword. In either case a boken is essential for training in most Japanese sword arts.

-The bokken has been constructed from American White Oak with a natural finish.
-The White Oak provides a much tighter grain than most other bokkens on the market.
-The bokken has a solid feel and perfect balance.

Pros: Feels pretty dense and sturdy. Good price.

Cons: They're not curved at all. I guess I should've noticed from the photo.
