This is the Aluminum Alloy Practice Samurai Sword Katana Iaito. The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy. The tsuba is a design of a dragon in the clouds and is constructed from copper alloy. The tsuka core is wooden with synthetic Same (ray skin). Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy. An aesthetic hamon runs down the edge of the blade and a bohi rests at the top of the blade. The blade comes full tang and unsharpened with a rounded off edge. The balance of blade is perfect.
Saya: The saya is constructed from wood with a high gloss red lacquer finish. A black cotton sageo has been wrapped around the wooden kurigata.
Tsuba: The habaki is a one piece brass construction. The tsuba is a cut out design constructed from brass.
Tsuka: The tsuka core is wooden with imitation samegawa (ray skin). Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the handle. Two brass menuki are on each side of the tsuka with black cotton ito.

Great for Practice & non-cutting Demonstrations	February 7, 2012

I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt and wanted to find a very realistic practice sword without the danger of cutting myself since I am new to this weapon. This swords is well balanced, of great quality, and beautiful to the eye. It is a great practice sword and I recommend to all beginners with this weapon.

Very dessapointed to receive a bill for £28.99 Duty/taxes from fedex .
There was nothing on the website when i ordered the sword to suggest this may happen.
I bought it in good faith and beleived that all was ok, i payed for the sword and delivery, had i known i would get a bill for tax charges i would not have bought the sword.

My name is Sinchi: Mike i am the senior instructor of the Amarillo Haedong Kumdo Dojang. I purchased the practice sword to replace our wooden bokken's.

The sword is extremely light, but well built. It cuts through the air very quickly and is an excellent tool for practicing blade rotations and chukkums, or Drawing & Sheathing.

I highly recommend this sword for all Haedong Kumdo Students. It has a false edge and dull blade for safety but has the look and feel of a real Korean Jingum sword.

For the price, you will not find a better practice sword on the market.
