This is the Aluminum Alloy Practice Samurai Sword Katana Iaito. The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy. The tsuba is a design of a dragon in the clouds and is constructed from copper alloy. The tsuka core is wooden with synthetic Same (ray skin). Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy. An aesthetic hamon runs down the edge of the blade and a bohi rests at the top of the blade. The blade comes full tang, and unsharpened with a rounded off edge. The balance of blade is perfect.
Saya: The saya is constructed from wood with a high gloss black lacquer finish. A black cotton sageo has been wrapped around the wooden kurigata.
Tsuba: The habaki is a one piece brass construction. The tsuba is a cut out design constructed from brass.
Tsuka: The fuchi is bright brass. The tsuka core is wooden with imitation same (ray skin). Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the handle. Two brass menuki are on each side of the tsuka. Black cotton Ito has been wrapped over the tsuka.

I purchased this product for my Iaido class, but i cannot use it cause my Instructor only allows products from Japan, :( but none the less its a very good sword to practice with. The only thing i am having an unpleasent time about is that the handle fabric is become loose already, with just a couple of draws and the sheath isnt quite as fitted to the sword and is loose sitting inside the scabbard. But its very worth the price.

This is quite light, something I was looking for as I have arthritis in my right elbow and wrist.

The bo-hi give a nice tache waza when swung properly.

No rattle in the saya, either. Fittings are so-so but for the price, not bad.

The kissaki is the major flaw. It looks like the end of a big butter knife, with not attempt at a point.

The sageo is the basic bootlace style and should be replaced for serious practice.

But overall for the price, not bad at all.
