This is a practice Aluminum Alloy Katana. The Katana is extremely light weight with a perfect balance. The blade comes full tang and unsharpened. This sword is perfect for practice of Iaito.

The iaito includes a sword bag.

Features

Attributes of the Weapon:
Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy with a bohi and aesthetic hamon. The blade comes full tang and unsharpened with a rounded off edge. The balance of the blade is perfect.
Saya: The saya is constructed from wood with a high gloss black finish with a black cotton sageo.
Guard: The habaki is a one piece brass construction. The guard is a cut out design constructed from brass.
Tsuka: The fuchigashira feature a flower theme. The ito is black cotton over black synthetic ray skin. The tang is secured with two smoked bamboo mekugi.

I'm not in a position financially to where I can afford a top of the line sword so I was anxious to see how this would work out for me. Overall I am very pleased with this sword. It is straight, well balanced and seems to be durable. It is not without flaws, however. The handle is listed as 11" and while this is technically true it includes a rounded decorative bit at the bottom making its effective length more like 10 1/2". The handle also has a decorative bit on either side that doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to irritate your fingers. My instructor is going to buy one of these though and see if they can be successfully removed. If so I will do the same greatly improving the sword for me. Eventually I will upgrade from this sword but for now I am pleased with this one to start.

This is my first time purchasing from this place and I found it to be quality. This sword however is not quality. You get what you pay for. It definitely is not for practicing in the school. The instructors will not allow it. A quality sword costs around $300. You can definitely tell the difference. If you just want to mess around at home, this sword is fine.

I'm really comfortable with the new kahgum,I have seem other kahgum but your is number 1.
