This is the Disassembled Damascus-Look Steel Sengoku General Sword. The Sword comes completely disassembled inside a display box. The Box includes a plastic cover so that the entire box can be mounted for display.

The katana is a replica of one of the five generals that served Hideyoshi Toyotomi. The Sengoku (or Warring States) period was one of the most famous in Japanese history, and created some of the greatest hero's of the Samurai history. It was shortly after the death of Toyotomi that the Tokugawa period of Japan was established.

The sword has been made by pattern-welding, a technique that yields results similar to the lost art of Damascus.

The katana comes disassembled inside a wooden collectors box and includes: 2 additional tsubas, 4 seppas, 4 mekugi, a cleaning kit, and sword bag.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed by pattern welding, creating a look similar to the lost Damascus Steel folding technique. By hand the sword smith painstakingly stacks and forges individual layers of steel. This technique can be easily seen by the unique patterning of the steel on the blade. Traditionally this wood like grain pattern is known as the water mark.
The blade features a bohi for better balance and a audible feedback when the sword is swung. The kissak1 is a medium size with a well defined yokote. The sword is full tang and comes sharpened.
Saya: The Saya is constructed from hard wood with a black lacquer finish and a black cotton cord Ito tied around a wooden Kurigata.
Tsuba: The katana comes with two styles of tsuba. The first tsuba is the original round marugata style with three circular cut outs. Three orchids are on each point of the design with vines trailing down to the rim of the guard.
The second tsuba is a mokkogata design with waves on the border and three tomoe (Shinto symbols). The guards also include four brass seppas and a one piece construction brass Habaki. The tang is secured by two bamboo Mekugi.
Tsuka: The fuchi is brass with three tomoe on each side. The tsuka core is wooden with an imitation shark skin Same and a black cotton Ito. The menuki was golden dragons on each side of the tsuka. The kashira is aged brass with three more tomoe.
