The Tiger has always been a symbol of power and strength. Their ferocity and unpredictable attack makes the tiger a terrifying opponent to face. Even the mighty Dragon is given a run for its money when it squares off against a tiger. Few animals can represent the Samurai better than the tiger.

Handmade Tiger Samurai Katana Sword Iron Tsuba

The Katana includes: Sword Bag, Gift Box, Cleaning Kit, and Certificate of Authenticity.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed of high carbon steel in a Maru Lamination. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created using the ancient Japanese method. The curve of the blade has been created as a result of the different steel used in the Ha and the Shinogi.
When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back. The HRC of the blade is 55 degrees.
The blade has been built with a high Mune, a deep curve, and a Kiji Momo Tang. A Bo-Hi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The hamon is in a doran style with a clear Nioi line. The Kissake is a medium length with a well defined Yokote.
The blade is full tang and comes razor sharp.
Saya: The Saya is hard wood with a high gloss black lacquer finish. The Koi-guchi is black bull horn. A black silk sage-o has been wrapped around a bright copper Kurigata.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction with the Musashi logo imprinted into the brass. The Seppas are copper, one on each side of the Tsuba. The Tsuba is oxidized copper with a tiger stalking through the forest.
Tsuka: The Tsuka is wooden with a ray skin Same and black silk Ito. Two bright copper Menuki are on each side of the Tsuka in the likeness of tigers. A single Bamboo Mekugi secures the tang of the blade into the Tsuka. The Kashira is black iron featuring another tiger.
