Although a Samurai can fight with only the Katana, the complete warrior fights with both the Katana and Wakizashi. This is the Mushashi Daisho Set, made with the same quality of excellence that the hand forged Mushashi have become renown for. The swords are forged in the old tradition of the legendary Samurai sword smiths with a six step forging process and polishing. The swords are composed of all authentic materials and are practical for most practice and cutting uses.

The Set includes: Katana, Wakizashi, Wooden Two Tier Table Stand, Cleaning Kit, Decorative Wooden Box, Two Cloth Sword Bags, and Certificate of Authenticity.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been made in the traditional hand forging process. A Kobuse lamination was used as the construction method. This lamination uses a medium steel as the core of the blade and a hard steel on the cutting edge.
The hamon has been traditionally hardened with a clay application on the body of the blade. The cutting edge of the blade is left uncovered. The sword is heated then quenched in water. The clay covering allows the body of the blade to cool more slowly than the cutting edge. The end result is a blade that is extremely hard on the Ha but still flexible on the body of the blade.
The Kissaki is extended style with a low Yokote line. The blade is full tang with its number of authenticity engraved into the tang. The blade is mirror polished with Masame grain pattern. The sword comes razor sharp.
Saya (Scabbard): The saya of the sword is wooden with a high gloss black finish. The Kurigata is simple with a black silk sage-o. The Koi-guchi (scabbard throat) is bulls horn.
Tsuba (Guard): The tsuba begins with a one piece brass Habaki with the Murumachi symbol engraved into the brass. The Tsuba itself is oxidized copper created in the double ring of Musashi. The Tsuba ends in a Fuchi with a Seppa.
Tsuka (Handle): The Tsuka is traditionally made with all authentic materials. The wrap is black cotton over ray skin. There are two Mekugi securing the tang of the sword and two oxidized dragon Menukis. The Kashira has two butterflies in relief.
