The strength and flexibility of Bamboo has been respected and sought after by the Samurai. If a sword is indeed the soul of a Samurai, shouldn't that soul represent his ultimate goal. Flexibility to all situations and the strength to pursue correct actions is the ideal of these legendary knights.

This is a hand forged Edo Edition Mother of Pearl Sakura Katana. The blade of the sword has been hand made, full tang, and comes sharp. The Saya of the Katana is wooden with a red lacquer finish. A branch of Sakura blossoms have been inlaid into the Saya with mother of pearl.

Features

Attributes of the Weapon:
Blade: The blade of the sword is constructed by hand from high carbon steel. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created. The curve of the blade has been created as a result of the different steel used on the Ha and Shinogi. When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back.
The blade has been built with a low Mune, a medium curve, and a Kiji Momo Tang. A Bo-Hi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The Kissake is a medium length with a well defined Yokote.
The blade is full tang and comes sharp.
Saya: The Saya is wooden with a clear lacquer finish. On each side of the Saya are Bamboo Stalks. The Bamboo Stalks are inlaid mother of pearl. The Sage-o is black Silk cord tied over a copper kurigata. The Koiguchi is constructed from bull horn.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba is constructed from iron in the cut out Edo design. The Tsuba is secured by two copper Seppas.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is Iron with a pattern of bamboo. The Tsuka core is wooden with a real Ray skin Same wrap. A black silk Ito has been wrapped over the Ray skin Same. Two iron Menuki rest on each side of the Tsuka. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the Tsuka. The Kashira is patterned iron.
