In Eastern depictions of dragons there is typically a pearl that the dragon is reaching for or protecting. This is the sacred pearl of wisdom or yang energy. The pearl represents the eternal life found through truth and enlightenment. The sacred pearl can also be seen as the culmination of universal chi (or qi). The dragons reach for the pearl but have not yet attained their power. The two dragons are the treasure dragons (or fu-can-long).

This is a hand forged Musashi Edition Mother of Pearl Katana. The blade of the sword has been hand made, full tang, and comes sharp. The Saya of the Katana is wooden with a black lacquer finish. Two dragons and the pearl of wisdom have been inlaid into the Saya with mother of pearl.

Features

Attributes of the Weapon:
Blade: The blade of the sword is constructed by hand from high carbon steel. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created. The curve of the blade has been created as a result of the different steel used on the Ha and Shinogi. When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back.
The blade has been built with a low Mune, a medium curve, and a Kiji Momo Tang. The sword smith has signed the tang of the blade. A Bo-Hi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The Kissake is a medium length with a well defined Yokote.
The blade is full tang and comes sharp.
Saya: The Saya is wooden with a black lacquer finish. On each side of the Saya are two dragons guarding the sphere of wisdom. The dragons and sphere are inlaid mother of pearl. The Sage-o is black cotton cord tied over a copper kurigata. The Koiguchi is constructed from bull horn.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba is constructed from iron in the classic Musashi double ring design. The Tsuba is secured by two copper Seppas.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is Iron with a pattern of bamboo. The Tsuka core is wooden with a real Ray skin Same wrap. A black silk Ito has been wrapped over the Ray skin Same. Two iron Menuki rest on each side of the Tsuka. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the Tsuka. The Kashira is patterned iron.
