This Katana is one extraordinary sword. The Blade of the sword is forge folded, creatting a look similar to Damascus Steel with defined water markings, 4,500 layers, and a sharp edge. The sword has been constructed with the specifications of a traditional Katana.

The Tsuba and fittings are detailed and beautiful enough to have come straight from a late Edo period sword smith. The sword is visually impressive enough to be proudly displayed, but it is absolutely functional.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is hand made from High Carbon Steel by forge folding, crating a look similar to the Damascus style. The blade has 4,500 layers with the unique wood grain pattern. The blade is full tang with a bloodline, a short kissaki and comes sharp.
Saya (Scabbard): The Saya of the sword is wooden with a black glossy finish. A black cotton Sageo is wrapped around the sword with a wooden and copper Kurigata.
Tsuba (Guard): The habaki is one piece brass construction with a pattern of tree branches. The seppas are copper. This Tsuba proves that Tsuba making is an art form in itself. Created in a Maru Gata style the Tsuba is a wreath of Ume blossoms and branches. Each blossom is bright copper against the gray branches. The detail is incredible, with texture given to the smallest petals of each blossom.
Tsuka (Handle): The fuchi is as beautiful as the tsuba with more blossoms and branches. The blossoms are inlaid copper and the branches zinc. The tsuka is hardwood wrapped with a ray skin same and black cotton wrap. Copper menuki are found on each side of the tsuka in the likeness of ume blossoms. The tang is secured by two mekugi. The kashira has raised branches and blossoms over a solid cap.

awesome sword, razor sharp, but i noticed it has a hamon which does not appear in the photo, ive inquired whether or not it was real but despite missing stand and clean box i would recommend this sword for any real use or display
