The Honor 'Beater' is perfect for the beginning sword practitioner and beginning backyard cutter. The swords are tough through hardened 1065 steel for under $100. The blades feature slight Niku to reinforce the cutting edge, but is slight enough to still perform very clean cuts. A Bohi has been added to the top of the blade to give audible feedback when the sword is swung correctly and to make it lighter and faster. The Beater is capable of light to medium tameshigiri.

Features

Blade: The blade of the Beater has been constructed from through hardened 1065 Carbon Steel. An aesthetic hamon runs along the Ha of the blade. A Bo-hi has been added to the blade to make it lighter and therefore, quicker.
The blade comes full tang and very sharp.
Saya: The Saya of the katana is wood with a black glossy finish. The word 'Honor' has been carved into the wood of the scabbard. The Kanji for Honor has been carved into the opposite side of the Saya.
Tsuka: The Tsuba is blackened steel alloy with a Sukashi (cut-out) crane. The Tsuka features a double pinned Mekugi and brass Menuki with authentic Same (ray skin) and is wrapped in black chemical fiber Ito. The Fuchi and Kashira are blackened steel alloy.

Lets start by saying that I am SHOCKED. I was expecting an average blade for the price. What I got is an awesomely powerful blade. Very sharp, but not so sharp you have to worry about the edge rolling. The saya I plan to refinish anyway. I bought this for the steel and it is worth every penny. Cuts bottles like they aren't there. The box it came in was my first victim. No visible damage to the blade even after a full 2 hours of cutting bottles of all shapes and sizes. Customer service with this company is AWESOME. If you are looking for an awesome blade to start out with this is defenately for you. I will be a loyal customer for a long time. I will gladly post a video review if anyone wants to see what this blade is all about. Thank you Swordnarmory for offering such an awesome, solid, and quality product.
