Item Specs

The Chrysanthemum has been cultivated in China as early as the 15th century BC (before there even was an established China). The flower made its way from China to Japan sometime during the 8th century AD. Upon the flowers arrival in Japan, the Emperor adopted the flower as his royal seal.

The Katana Includes: A Sword Bag, an Extra Seppa and Mekugi.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand made with High Carbon Steel. The Carbon has been hammered out through the blade so that it has a universal hardness throughout the entire blade. A Bo-Hi has been added to the top of the blade to even out the weight and give audible feedback. The sword comes full tang with an O-Kissake.
Saya: The Saya of the sword has been constructed from wood with a blue high gloss finish. A scene of Chrysanthemum blossoms has been painted onto the Saya of the sword in deep gold. An orange cotton Sage-O has been tied around the bright copper Kurigata. The rim of the Koi-Guchi has been hardened.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The tsuba has been crafted from copper with a scene of a Japanese landscape in bold relief. Two copper Seppa secure the Tsuba of the Katana.
Tsuka: The Fuchi has been constructed from Copper in the likeness of rolling waves. The Tsuka has a wooden core with a Ray skin Same wrap. A blue cotton Ito has been wrapped over the Same. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the Tsuka. A blackened copper Menuki rests on each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira is another scene of waves.
