Item Specs

According to Japanese mythology Ryujin was the god of the seas. Similar to Chinese mythology, the ruler of the seas took the form of a dragon. His palace was under the ocean and constructed from red and white coral. Jelly fish, sea turtles and fish were his servants. The rulers of Japan would trace their lineage to Ryujin. Because of this fact, it was recorded that the Empress Jingu was able to control the tides that won the victory over the Korean navy.

The Katana includes a Cotton Sword Bag.

Features

Blade: The blade has been handmade from through hardened high carbon steel with a bohi and aesthetic hamon.
The blade comes full tang and sharp.
Saya: The saya has been constructed from hard wood with a black dull gloss finish. The sageo is black chemical fiber. The koiguchi is a blackened steel fitting.
Tsuba: The habaki is a one piece brass construction. The tsuba is a blackened steel disc with a scene of Ryujin coiling around the blade of the sword.
Tsuka: The fuchi features another scene of Ryujin against silver clouds. The tsuka core is wooden with imitation ray skin samegawa and black chemical fiber Ito. Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the blade into the tsuka. Two blackened steel menuki decorate each side of the tsuka. The kashira is a mounted bushi.
