Many today associate all warriors of Japan into the class of Samurai. However, the Samurai were only one part of a large class of warriors called Bushi. Bushi means simply warrior and this class made up the military ranks of Japan. Many of the Bushi were born into the class and taught the arts of war from an early age by their fathers. These lessons included fencing, archery, horsemanship, use of the spear, tactics, ethics, literature and calligraphy. The Bushi would latter adopt the code Bushido, or the Way of the Warrior. Similar to the knights of Europe the Bushi were expected to be the beacon of justice, honor, courage, truthfulness, and loyalty.

This is the Bushi Katana. The sword has been hand made and is completely disassembled. The blade is full tang and is very well balanced. The sword is functional.
