Description Item Specs   This is the Handmade Shirasaya Style Katana. When the sword is sheathed the handle and saya look like one solid piece. Overall Length: 38.75 " Blade Material: Carbon Steel Blade Length: 28.25 " Blade: Very Sharp Handle Length: 10.5 " Scabbard Material: Wood Condition: Brand New Features Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from through hardened high carbon steel with bohi and aesthetic hamon. Saya (Scabbard): The saya is wooden with a dark stained finish and fits seamlessly into the handle. Tsuka (Handle): The handle is the same stained wood as the saya. Musashi Red Shirasaya Katana July 27, 2011 Reviewer: Chris from Clifton, NJ   This sword looks great. Even with its fake hamon, it just looks classy.  Right out the box, it cuts light targets with ease, (Milk jugs, water bottles, pool noodles) Im not even going to try to cut tatami with it.  After all, it is an inexpensive blade, and I dont want to damage something that looks so nice. For the very low price, its an excellent display sword, and great for light cutting every now and then. Was this review helpful to you?

musashi red shirasaya katana April 19, 2011 Reviewer: julian parker from picayune, MS United States   very nice sword ballanced well,sharp blade,very nice rosewood handle,and saya. cuts well for light duty cutting due to no fittings,i would nt try anymore than that. for the price a must have,for any katana collection. great sword February 11, 2011 Reviewer: erick3e from Riverside, CA United States   i bought this sword few months back thinking about replacing the handle with more traditional fittings but i still haven't able to remove the handle! it is secured incredibly well, although it only has 1 pin i think the tang is also glued. the blade itself its beautiful and altough the hamon is fake it looks great and the blade is very sharp. idk about heavy targets but it easily slices thru water bottles and beach mats. the grip on the handle gets a lil difficult when your hands gets sweaty because there is no ito to absorb it. after all this time the saya is still holds the sword tight and the color looks great Was this review helpful to you?
