Item Specs

This is the bastard sword. The bastard sword originated with the Germanic tribes and Swiss. However, the style was soon widespread across Europe. The name bastard sword is debatable in its origin, but it is believed that since the sword could not be classified as a single or double handed weapon it was in a way illegitimate. The sword was extremely versatile and created a new combat style based on this attribute.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from 440 Stainless Steel with an unsharpened edge. A ridge runs down the length of the blade with a fuller running through the ridge. A short ricasso is located at the base of the blade.
Guard: The guard is an Oakeshott Type XVII guard built from Stainless Steel with a solid feel.
Handle: The handle is steel with a ribbed design for maximum grip. The pommel is a solid piece that balances the sword.
Plaque: The plaque is wooden and is easily mounted.
