The Kami are objects and deities of worship in Japan. Influenced by Shintoism, the Kami can take the form of a "God" similar to the Greek Gods, or they can also be the embodiment of a natural occurrence such as the spirit of a tree of a pond. In Japanese the word Kami is honorific and implies a respect and nobility to the spirits. It is also interesting that Japanese Shintoism believes that this spirit lives in all living beings, including humans.

Features

Attributes of the Weapon:
Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from 1095 (T10) High Carbon steel in a Maru Lamination. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created using the ancient Japanese method. The curve of the blade has been created as a result of the different steel used in the Ha and the Shinogi. When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back. The HRC of the blade is 55 degrees.
The blade has been built with a low Mune, a deep curve, and a Kiji Momo Tang. A Bo-Hi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The hamon is in a Sanbon-sugi style with a clear Nioi line and visible Nie line. The Kissake is a medium length with a well defined Yokote.
The blade is full tang and comes razor sharp.
Saya: The Saya is wooden with a black piano lacquer finish. A silk Sage-o has been tied around the copper Kurigata. The Koi-Guchi has been constructed from black bull horn.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction with the Musashi logo imprinted into the brass. A copper Seppa secures the blade of the sword in the Tsuba. The actual Tsuba has been constructed from blackened copper with a fierce Kami on each side in deep relief.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is brass with a golden fan on each side. The Tsuka core is wooden with a Ray Skin Same and a black silk Ito. A single bamboo Mekugi secures the tang of the sword in the Tsuka. Two copper Menuki can be found on each side of the Tsuka. The Menuki are cast in the likeness of blossoms. The Kashira is brass with koi.
