Although a Samurai can fight with only the Katana, the complete warrior fights with both the Katana and Wakizashi. This is the way of Niten'ichi or "two swords as one". This was the style Musashi created and used to defeat over 60 opponents in duels alone.

The Set includes: Katana, Wakizashi, Wooden Two Tier Table Stand, and Two Cloth Sword Bags.

Features

Blade: The blades have been hand made from 1065 high carbon steel in a Maru lamination. The blades are through hardened with an aesthetic hamon along the cutting edges. A bo-hi has been added to the top of the blades to lighten the weight of the blade and give audible feedback when the sword is swung correctly.
The swords come full tang and very sharp.
Saya (Scabbard): The sayas of the swords are wooden with a high gloss black finish. The Kurigatas are wooden with bright copper rings. The sageos are black cotton. The koiguchis are wooden with hardened rims.
Tsuba (Guard): The tsubas begin with one piece brass Habakis. The Tsubas are black steel alloy created in the legendary double ring Musashi design.
Tsuka (Handle): The Tsuka is traditionally made with all authentic materials. The wrap is black cotton over ray skin. There are two Mekugi securing the tang of the sword and two oxidized dragon Menukis. The Fuchi and Kashira are black steel alloy.

This would be a 5 star review if only the wakazashi wasn't wobbling around loose in its saya. Aside from the mouth of the saya not gripping the blade like its supposed to, this is a great set... good steel, tight tsuka, mekugi, and tsuba, sharp out of the box, and nice sword bags.

Wakizashi saya too big	October 1, 2011

This set should be described as Musashi-STYLE. The box was nondescript & the 1 other vendor I could find described it as Master Brand.

I bought it to get an inexpensive wakizashi & an additional katana to practice with, of 1065 carbon steel. Overall, this set is well worth the $71 free shipping I paid after the send me email discount.

The stand is functional.

The tsukas are nice & the blades are good & sharp and decently polished.

The saya for the wakizashi is 2" too long; & the wakizashi rattles a bit in it. I think I'll try stuffing some foam (NOT styrofoam) down the saya. I had to do a bit of sanding to keep the katana from sticking in ITS saya.

Perhaps someone grabbed the wrong length saya for the wakizashi, in which case I would welcome SnA's sending me the right 1. But I will not lose sleep over this set.

If you don't like the CHINA stamp on the blade, get some Bar Keepers Friend, make a bit of paste, and rub it with your finger until it's gone.

awesome sword no joke well handmade even with the sword stand iam a fan of musashi & i was looking for a good handmade samurai sword set and i found this 1 thks again ill buy from these guys again

Beautiful matched set for the price	June 9, 2011

I bought these swords because I wanted a matching set of Musashis, the price was good, and I had an additional coupon from a previous purchase. The resulting deal was great! The high-gloss sayas look beautiful on my bookshelf, and the simple stand that came with the swords works well. The blades are straight, sturdy, and sharp. The bohi on the wakazashi wasn't deep enough to my taste, but the katana's was good and gave good feedback. My only other gripe is that the katana's saya seems cut a little off-curve, so the blade was extremely tight to pull out at first. It's probably getting looser by the blade cutting a path inside, but it is better now and doesn't seem to have dulled perceptibly. The handle of the wakazashi is shorter than others I have/have seen, but OK. The windings are very nicely done. Overall, I'm really glad I bought this set. Outstanding for about $35 a sword.
