Description Item Specs   A Damascus blade is one of the most easily recognizable blades. The signature trait of the steel is the watermark. Damascus steel was first created in the Middle East between 900 and 1750. The steel was the solution to a sword that was both extremely hard and soft. This sword has been forged in a similar fashion and has the classic Damascus look..   Features Blade: The blade of the sword has been handmade from 1065 High Carbon steel in a Damascus pattern. This pattern was achieved by painstakingly staking each layer of steel to create the traditional watermark The core of the blade has been constructed from 1040 Carbon Steel in a Kobuse Lamination. The blade comes full tang in a straight Ninjaken style with Bohi. The blade is very sharp. Saya: The Saya of the sword has been constructed from wood with a high gloss burgundy finish. A black cord Sageo has been tied around the wooden Kurigata. The Koiguchi has been given a bull horn finish. Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction over a brass Seppa. The Tsuba of the sword has been constructed from oxidized copper in a hexagon design with grape vines. An additional Seppas has been added to the back of the Tsuba. Tsuka: The Tsuka core is wooden with authentic Same wrapped over the wood. Black cord Ito has been wrapped over the Same. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang in the Tsuka. Brass Dragon Menuki are found on each side of the Tsuka.
