Description Item Specs

The sword includes a Sword Bag and signed certificate of authenticity.
  • Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from 1060 high carbon steel with a Maru lamination and has been heat treated. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created as a result of the forging and tempering process. When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back.
  • A Bohi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The Kissaki is a medium length with a well defined Yokote.
  • The blade is full tang and comes razor sharp.
  • Saya: The Saya is wooden with a black high gloss finish. The Kurigata is wooden with shiny brass fittings. Tied around the Kurigata is a black sageo. The Koiguchi has been hardened via laquering.
  • Tsuba: The blade is secured by a one piece brass Habaki. The actual Tsuba is blackened iron with a sukashi (cut out) design. Two brass Seppas secure the tsuba of the sword.
  • Tsuka: The Fuchi is blackened steel with a dragon. The Tsuka core is wooden with authentic Same and black cotton Ito. The tang is secured by two bamboo Mekugi. On each side of the Tsuka are bright brass Menuki. The Kashira is blackened iron.

Awasome Sword May 25, 2016
Reviewer: Sword Collector from Los Angeles, CA United States
Before when this sword arrived I had some good expectations after reading the sword description. When I received it, it exceed my expectations. Light weight, razor sharp, good grip, and well assembled. I have several other swords. I have compared this swords with the other swords for the performance of it and it tops them all. Sharp crisp sound when you swing the sword which means that this sword is well balanced as well. I definetely recommend.

Great sword September 13, 2010
Reviewer: Justin Watson from Pontiac, MI United States
This sword is very nice for the money. I was unable to disassemble this sword. Maybe they glued the tang into the handle? It is a very nice and sharp cutter though and the sword cut for me as well as I saw it cut on the video. The black fittings are painted, not blued. Some of the paint was missing on the bottom of the tsuba- minor. I would very much recommend this sword to you for its functionality and value.

Gets your foot in door on quality. March 23, 2010
Reviewer: Jeremy Poe from Tyler, TX United States
This is actually my first "real" katana. After much research and comparison in the price range I settled on this sword and am quite pleased. Pretty solid piece and the blade is a bargain. I have made cuts easily  on things  it was never intended For under a $100 price tag you end up with a differentially heat treated blade with a unique and genuine hamon! Nicely balanced... feels light and is nimble in the hand. Great sword to get your foot in the door without breaking the bank or risking disappointment.
