The blade is light weight and very quick, when combined with the perfectly shaped tsuka the result is a sword that is extremely responsive and agile. The blueing process allows the black to bond with the skin steel of the blade ensuring that the blade will remain black much longer than paint or anodization. An aesthetic hamon and bohi has been added to the blade. The blade comes full tang, very sharp, and is fully capable of performing tameshigiri. Saya: The saya of the sword is wooden with a black high gloss finish and hardened koiguchi. The sageo is black chemical fiber tied over a wooden kurigata with golden shitedome. Tsuka: The tsuba is the classic black square design. The fuchigashira are patterned alloy. The ito is black cotton with alternating crossovers over crisp white samegawa. Two smoked bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka. The tsuka is perfectly tapered to fit the hands and provide an extremely responsive sword. master park ninjato? first impressions August 18, 2011 Reviewer: mobile sniper from CO United States   ok, firstly i don't want to make a book so in the next 24 hours look for my video review of this product on youtube under crossbowsniper.  when i get paid next week i'll be ordering tatame mats to do some cutting test reviews of it on youtube as well.   but for this written review here we go, short and sweet...1. shorter than most average ninja-to's by about 3-6 inches. but balanced so perfectly you could teach a beginner to wield this weapon one handed. 2. quality: 1065 stee= good resilience!! 3. blade: DAMN that's sharp...when i ran my finger as a test and inspected, it looked like i had a paper cut and i never felt it.  for those who know what that means.....it means sharp.  finish is a chemical finish, ALTHOUGH, it looks anodized it is not...i do finishing of firearms so i can tell a good quality finish when i see it.....bottom line: recommended?  yes HIGHLY...balance perfect, edge great, resilience amazing.  will give better review on youtube Was this review helpful to you?

Hmm... June 14, 2011 Reviewer: Joshua from Austin, TX United States   I'd like to start by saying the SnA customer service is very helpful, as they answered any & all questions about specifications or durability within a timely manner. With that being said, I'd also like to say that this sword works like a dream for a starter blade. The weight is excellent, the blade is extremely sturdy as it has little to no damage after cutting fresh cut 3-inch thick bamboo and he Ito was wrapped tightly. My only gripes are that the Kashira came loose from the box and after a little under a week of use the Tsuba came loose.  Both of these problems are easily fixed if you know how to do so... SnA even offered me a refund.   So all in all, you can't go wrong with SnA. If you want a durable sword for a cheap price you can't go wrong here either; just make sure to ask about the Tsuba and Kashira. So I'm giving this purchase 3 stars for customer service and 2 stars for the sword. Was this review helpful to you?
