The Edo Period Tsuba was reflective of the time period. Most Samurai were losing power and the art of the sword was in decline; this lead to a lower production of swords, but a higher level of decorative pieces. During this period of time some of the most beautiful swords were created.

This Tsuba is hand made of oxidized copper in the old tradition. The Sukashis are three flowers with a standard sized Nakago-ana out in the middle. The Tsuba is a Mokko Gata style with the Kozuka Hitsu-ana on one side and the Kogai Hitsu-ana on the opposite side, each side represents the sun and the moon.

The Tsuba comes in a wooden collectors box with a red velvet lining.
