The Jin-Tachi was one of the first blades seen in Japan. Typically the blade was swung from horse back and was so long that the Samurai would have to have assistance carrying it. As the blade evolved the tachi and eventually the katana came to life. The Jin-Tachi was now worn as a decorative sword for ceremony. Since it was no longer used for battle the style of the Jin Tachi began to change and the sword became more artful and less deadly.

This Jin Tachi is tribute to life of the sword throughout history. A long the handle of the sword is a scene of the fighting bushi from horse back to ground fighting. The ornament of the sword is also reminiscent of the beauty a decorative sword could have.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is 440 stainless steel featuring a hamon along the edge of the blade. The blade comes already sharpened.
Scabbard: The scabbard is constructed of wood with a red high gloss finish. The end cap of the scabbard is steel painted red with golden leaves and a dark green border. In the lower center of the scabbard is an ornamental ring in red with golden blossoms. The sage-o is highly detailed and ornate. Instead of the standard on wrap sage-o this is two wraps of green and red over a dark piece of cloth. This contrast of colors and the addition of golden fittings make the scabbard stand out as a work of art. The scabbard ends in a golden scabbard throat.
Guard: The guard begins with a golden blade collar. The guard itself is cut as a cross style with a red border around a back ground of dark blue with golden leaves. The guard is secured to the handle by a red and gold fitting.
Handle: The handle of the sword depicts a raging battle of samurai. The battle is highlighted in red color, and is in relief. The handle ends with a steel pommel of red, blue and gold. A traditional ring is in the handle showing this sword to a Jin Tachi.
