The tale of the 47 Ronin is one of most well known stories of honor and revenge ever told. The story begins in 18th century Japan. After multiple insults the Daimyo of Ako assaulted an arrogant and petty court official named Kira. Although, the injury was not grave the Daimyo of Ako had still committed a crime and was ordered to commit Seppuku. The Daimyo's retainers were left master less. According to the code of Bushido the Samurai were sworn to avenge their master, but they were restricted by law.

The 47 Ronin waited for a year, many taking on laborer jobs or becoming drunks. After a year, when Kira's defenses had been sufficiently lowered, they attacked. They successfully infiltrated Kira's strong hold and killed Kira. Afterward the Ronin turned themselves in and were allowed to commit Seppuku.

The sword includes a certificate of authenticity, and sword bag.
