From the award winning forge, " Shen Guang Long ", comes a legendary sword.

The Shen Guang Long Forge was established in 1882 in Long Quan. By 1914 Shen Guang Long had won a local sword forging competition. The next year Shen Guang Long attended the Panama Exposition in San Francisco and won the gold medal. This gold medal boasted the forge to fame. On Chiang Kai-shek's 51st birthday he received a sword forged by Shen Guang Long as a gift from the Long Quan Governor.

In 1972 Shen Guang Long participated in a historic event, and forged a sword as a national gift to President Richard Nixon. In 1985 Shen Guang Long won the title of Number One Sword of the Nation.

In 1996 The National Wu Shu Association appointed Shen Guang Long's swords to be the national standard competition weapon.

This is the Shen Guang Long Jian Wu Shu Sword. The sword is masterfully created with 125 of experience poured into the forging. This is the official sword of Chinese Competition Wu Shu.

Time Line of Shen Guang Long:

1882: "Shen Guang Long", the brand and the manufacture were first established in Long Quan.

1914: Won the title "King Sword" at a local competition.

1915: Attended Panama Exposition in San Francisco and won the gold medal. This would lead to Shen Guang Long's fame.

1930: Attended Nan Jing national sword competitions where they won the title of "Best Sword."

1935: On Chiang Kai-shek's fifity-first birthday, he was presented with a sword forged by Shen Guang Long manufacture, as a gift from the Long Quan Governor.

1956: Partnered with Long Quan Imperial Sword Manufacture to improve their sword making skills.

1972: Three generations cooperated with each other to forge a sword as a national gift to President Nixon.

1974: Attended The National Art Fair, and it was introduced to and filmed with Chairman Deng.

1985: Successfully forged the lost art of the Chinese style Damascus Steel.

1991: Received the title of "Master for the Swords and Arts."

1992: "Shen Guang Long" has been collected into Chinese Characters Year Book.

1996: National Wu Shu Association appointed Shen Guang Long's swords to be national standard competition weapon.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is constructed from spring steel. The Jianfeng (tip) is extremely flexible and can fold all the way back on itself. The Jiangen (base of the blade) features a ridge and raised kanji on side and dragon on the other side. A sun a moon rests on top of the raised kanji. The blade comes unsharpened with a sharpened tip.
Scabbard: The scabbard is construct from wood with a deep high gloss finish and light brown highlights. The end cap and scabbard throat are brightly polished bronze with a complex scroll work design. A red suspension cord has been tied around a another bronze fitting.
Guard: The guard is solid bronze with the traditional wings pointed forward.
Handle: The handle is polished wood with the design of as the scabbard. The pommel is solid bronze with rivet cap and red tassels.
Carrying Bag: The carrying bag is tough nylon with a zipper. The bag features a an adjustable shoulder strap, inside pocket and outside zipper pocket.
