Sun Quan was one of the great generals during the Three Kingdoms Period. The second son of the Eastern Han general, Sun Jian, Sun Quan was pushed to the forefront of the political turmoil that eventually led to the Three Kingdoms period. After the death of the his older brother Sun Quan became the ruler of the Wu Empire. However, he was not he only war lord and was soon threatened by the forces of the war lord Cao Cao. Although outnumbered, Sun Quan and his ally Liu Bei were able to defeat Cao Cao. With Cao Cao defeated Sun Quan was able to create the Kingdom of the Eastern Wu.
