Our Roshigumi Daisho has been built off of our 3 series Katana and Wakizashi. The blades of both swords have been constructed from differentially tempered T10 carbon steel. The tsukas of the Daisho have been expertly rewrapped by our Tsukamakishi in a Katatemaki style that flows into Yorimaki.

Katatemaki, or the battle wrap, is a specialized style of wrap for one-handed sword use. Yorimaki is a lesser known style of wrap used by two contrasting groups of samurai. For the Shonai-Han samurai, Yorimaki was an indication of rank. During the Satsuma Rebellion, the style became prevalent among the rebelling samurai due to its quick and easy wrap style.

By combining the two styles of wrap our Tsukamakishi has created a truly unique Daisho.

This is a limited run custom Daisho.

Features

Blade: The blades of the Daisho have been constructed from differentially hardened T10 carbon steel. The hamons of the blades have been authentically created and feature a strong midare pattern The Nie of the hamons are very well defined with strong activity.
The Kissakis are Chu (medium style) style with a ko-maru turn back.
The blades come full tang and very sharp.
Saya: The original sageo of the 3 series have been switched out for a matching set. The saya have also been switched out for black lacquered sayas.
Tsuka: The Tsubas are blackened steel with a Sukashi style dragonfly and cat tails. The Katana Tsuka features a double pinned Mekugi (single pinned on the wakizashi) and a copper dragonfly Menuki. The Same is crisp white ray skin with a dark blue chemical fiber Ito. The Ito has been custom wrapped in Katatemaki with Yorimaki.
