Unsharpened carbon steel katana review July 3, 2012
Reviewer: Josue Alfaro from Houston, TX United States
Very good sword for iaido practice. The tsuka stays in place of the tsuba and blade itself, this sword is as close to the real katana blade as you're going to get without the sharpness of the real thing.

Good for the price June 28, 2011
Reviewer: Phillip Quitt from KS, United States
I bought two from their ebay store to save a little on shipping. The shitodome are very poorly done, sliding out if you untie the sageo, which you kinda do when you practice iaido. Also the blade is odd to me. The base of the blade is really thick (thicker than my real katana) and has a taper to a paper thin kissaki. The habaki looks fine on one, with only the slightest gap, but on the other it has a noticeable space. The saya also doesn't line up quite right, even when doing noto correct. The weighting is fine if you are used to something feeling this heavy, as most iaito are made of lighter material. The point of balance on one was right at 4" while the other was 4.25" as described. The sword makes an ok tachikaze. You really have to line it up right and if you are outside, there can't be but minor wind. Despite all of this, no iaito in this price range comes close to felling as well balanced and as sturdy as this one. Good luck changing the ito or tsuba though.

Solid, but too heavy for iaido March 10, 2011
Reviewer: Russell Levine from Vacaville, CA United States
This is a well made Chinese version of a Japanese sword, but it makes no sound when swung, so is not good for iaido and swing practice.

A surprising value for an Iaito March 4, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Mahwah, NJ United States
Having purchased another Carbon steel Iaito on this site, this one is the most extraordinary value. It has good quality carbon steel blade. For practice use, the balance is very good, not as tip heavy as other low cost iaitos. The fittings are very simple and unadorned. Wrapping is tight. The saya fit on the blade wasn't very good, it's rather tight, but I was able to remedy with a few quick motions of a file.
