The Ka-Bar fighting knife was designed as a hunting knife in 1898. The knife remained in production until 1942. During World War II the Marines choose the Ka-Bar as the official knife of the Marine Corp. Millions of the Ka-Bar knives were produced for World War II. After the war the knife remained in production and was adopted by both the Army and Navy.

The handle is tough black rubber with the traditional ribbed design.
The sheath of the knife nylon with a snap safety and belt loop.

Purchased miniature replica as a letter opener. Although I am not in general a fan of China produced products, this item is well made, inexpensive and appears an accurate replica with no defects. I would buy another.
