Description Item Specs

The Yuki is hands down our best mat cutter. With its short point of balance, thin wide blade, and 3 sided Samgakdo design, the blade is extremely fast and precise. Whether you are cutting Wara Tatami or Tatami Omote the blade has almost no resistance when the edge alignment is correct. Trick cuts are extremely easy to perform and often times the mat is still standing after the cut is made. In short, this sword is a dream to cut with, for an unbeatable price!

Yuki is also our first Korean sword offering from Munetoshi. It features a simplistic Ko Geung Ee (hand guard) and no Kalbe (side) profile, much like hira zukuri Japanese blades. It also features cotton Gamge (cord wrap) and real Sage (ray skin). Its low profile paired with its spring temper make it an exceptional mat cutter.

Specs will slightly vary from piece to piece.

Please note that this sword should never be used on hard targets. Incorrect draw cuts will result in serious injury.
Features
  • Blade: The blade has been constructed from through hardened high carbon steel drawn to a spring heat treat in a 3 sided Samgakdo (hira zukuri) style. A straight aesthetic hamon has been added along the ha of the sword.
  • The blade comes full tang and very sharp.
  • Kaljip: The Kaljip features a glossy black lacquered finish and bull horn Ip. The Kumn Ok is black cotton.
  • Kal Jaru : The Ko Geung Ee is blackened steel in a cut out design. The Kal Jaru features two smoked bamboo Sum Be-Gum Ong. The Gamge is black chemical fiber. The Sage is white ray skin. The Duitum Egi and Apm Egi are antiqued alloy in a simplistic style.

Awesome July 31, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from United States
I really like this sword and the fact that it comes with a mat/stand is great. No frills, no fancy colored box, no certificate, no Bohi (don't want one), no authentic Hamon (doesn't need one), just a razor sharp sword perfect for light cutting. The Same is decent and the black cotton Ito is wrapped tight. The Saya has a nice paint job and the sword fits it well. I'd say this is the best value sword on the entire site. If you want something that cuts great with good balance for under $130.00 you just can't beat it.

Yuki review January 31, 2012
Reviewer: Andrew Melito from Penrith, NSW Australia
The saya has two spots that seem to be filled in with filler and as a result the paint of the scabbard has cracked revealling the fault. The two gold fittings on the kurikata came off as soon as I removed the sageo. The kurikata could be place about 1-2cm further down the saya. As for the blade, the sharpness of the blade is uneven it is sharper at the base than on the monouchi. The tsuka is well made. Overall, the blade is well worth the money. If the blade performs as well in your cutting videos I will be purchasing more of your blades in the near future. Thank you for the opportunity to give you my feedback.

Regards
Andrew Melito
