Description Item Specs   This is the second generation Jintachi Shirasaya. The sword is combination of classic styles of Japanese swords. The handle of the sword is the ornate Jintachi style with a reverse curve. The scabbard and handle of the sword is a Shirasaya. The handle of the sword and scabbard fit seamlessly together. A highly detailed dragon marches along the scabbard of the sword, engraved into the wood. The Sword includes a Sword Bag and Single Tier Stand.   Features Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from 440 Stainless Steel with an aesthetic hamon. The blade come slightly sharpened with a ricasso at the base of the blade. Saya: The scabbard of the sword has been constructed from wood with a dark high gloss lacquered finish. Engraved into the wood of the scabbard is a beautifully detailed marching dragon. Tsuka: The handle of the sword is wooden with the same dark lacquered finish as the scabbard. nice but not impressed June 8, 2010 Reviewer: Keith Vaillancourt from Massena , NY United States   I ordered this thinking about the movie. probably set my expectation too high.  the dragon on the saya is carved out but not protected so the wood is exposed.  would be better if it were gold inlay and lacquered.  the blade is VERY tight in the saya.  took a lot of effort to pull it out. no brass at the base of the blade.(sorry don't remember all the terminology)  blade is exactly as described.. All in all... a good decorative piece. will do some clean up and take some photos.  I have ordered other swords through this site and have been very happy with them. Was this review helpful to you?
