Product Description

The dagger is one of the oldest weapons used by humans. Beginning in the prehistoric era daggers were made from flint and bone. During the bronze age the first metal daggers were created. The close range of the dagger made it a difficult weapon to use when faced with an axe or spear, however, it was this limitation that led to the creation of the sword.

Various societies used the dagger for ceremonial and functional purposes. The ancient Egyptians used the dagger for ceremonial purposes. The Romans used the dagger as side arms. By the European Middle Ages the dagger had become a side arm for knights. It was effective when used to penetrate the visor of the heavily armored knights.
