Description Item Specs   Musashi was the greatest swords man ever in Japan. It has been recorded that he won no less than 60 sword duels and was never defeated. He was not only the best swordsman but also the author of the book Of Five Rings, teacher of his sword art and talented artist. Musashi was a Samurai in all aspects of the word, and the world may never see another of his caliber. This is the economical edition of the Musashi. However, this is still a top of the line blade in this price range. The blade is hand crafted and razor sharp with a good balance. The sword is full tang and can be disassembled.   Features Blade: The blade of the sword is hand crafted and constructed of carbon steel with a hamon (Habuchi, The transition zone from soft to hard steel) along the edge of the blade. The sword comes razor sharp and features a visible kissake on the tip of the blade. Yokote: Ridge Line dividing kissaki from the rest of the blade. Boshi: The hadened edge (Yakiba) as it extends past the yokote into the kissaki. Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a high gloss black lacquer finish. Wrapped around the upper half of the scabbard is a black cotton sageo. The scabbard throat is blackened steel. Guard: The guard of the sword begins with a bronze blade collar (Habaki). The actual guard is blackened steel in the double ring design, the exact same design as the great Musashi. Each side of the guard is secured by a bronze spacer (Seppa), this fitting is only found on hand crafted swords. Handle: The sword is full tang and secured by two wooden pins in the handle of the sword. Wrapped over the tang of the sword is imitation ray held in place by two steel pins (Menuki) shaped like dragons. Over the ray skin is a black cotton wrap for the best in comfort and grip. great sword but.... December 1, 2009 Reviewer: ABGHARI from SPOKANE, WA United States   the description makes it sound like it has a "real hamon". it does not. it has a wire brush faux hamon. all in all a great buy!, solid fittings and a sharp blade. Great buy! September 23, 2009 Reviewer: Jeremy Brissard from Cornwall, ON Canada   Okay, so the sword itself is nice, tight fittings and doesn't slide out of the saya. The handle is wrapped nicely, really tight. The blade is sharp out of the box, but not "razor sharp" as it says, but i wasn't expecting it to be great out of the box. The blade comes with a bo-hi even though you can't see it in the pictures. The blade comes with grease on it to protect it during shipping and inside the ugly box was a really nice Musashi box. The sword shipped and only 4 days later i got it, the only thing I DIDN'T like was that for some reason it took them like 2 weeks to finish "processing" but they told me it was due to a problem with the web site. It comes with a sword bag and unfortunately no stand (like in the picture) but its not too important. Overall I think it's a great buy I got it when it was on sale so it was even better. Would I buy from swordnarmory again? Sure, when they fix the "processing" issue. But either than that a great buy. You should buy one! Seriously. Thank you for your feedback on this review.
