The Musashi Katana is one of the finest sub $100 katanas we have found on the market. The blade is very well balanced and features an authentic hamon. The tsuka is well shaped and features two bamboo mekugi. The blade comes very sharp and is fully capable of tameshigiri.

The sword includes a sword bag and certificate of authenticity.

Features

Detailed Specs of the Katana:
Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from differentially hardened 1060 carbon steel. The hamon has been authentically created using the traditional method of forging. The blade is very well balanced and comes full tang with a very sharp edge.
Saya: The saya has been constructed from wood with a metal flake finish. The sageo is high quality red and black chemical fiber.
Tsuka: The tsuba has been constructed from alloy with a Japanese landscape and oni. The fuchigashira feature a oni theme with turbulent waves. The ito features turquise chemical fiber with alternating crossovers, wrapped on top of real ray skin samegawa. Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka core.

I was very impressed with this one and had a great price. Like an idiot I chipped the paint of the saya no the ceiling fan. Touched up real nice with my wife's fingernail polish.

The sword came sharp as a razor blade, no dents at all. Thick tang, the tsuba is very solid and the hamon is beautiful. It's lightweight and the color combination makes it look pretty amazing. I tested it on the packaging box with the musashi box inside and it cut right through like butter. For the price, it's a must have.

Thanks to Sword n Armory for offering this wonderful katana. So nice, I bought two of them! This katana is built very solid. The saya is a bit rough on the finish but well done and still attractive and very strong. The tsuba is extremely well done, is very thick and helps with the overall balance. As far as the blade, it has a very nice polish and has a prominent genuine temper line. Overall, it is far better than most swords I have seen with price tags at over three to four times the price. This sword would be an awesome cutter or even for prominent display since the blue wrapping on the handle contrasts the red saya very nicely. This is a real winner from Musashi. Hope they continue to make katana of such great quality.
