Description Item Specs   This is the Handmade Zatoichi Straight Sword. Overall Length: 39.125 " Blade Material: Carbon Steel Blade Length: 28.25 " Blade: Very Sharp Handle Length: 10.5 " Scabbard Material: Wood Condition: Brand New Features Blade: The blade of the sword is constructed from through hardened carbon steel with an aesthetic hamon. The sword comes full tang with a sharp edge. Saya (Scabbard): The saya is wooden with a dark stained finish. The saya has been crafted to contour the shape of the blade, and fits seamlessly into the handle. Tsuka (Handle): The handle is the same stained wood as the saya. When the sword is sheathed the handle and saya look like one solid piece. The handle has been crafted to contour to the tang of the sword, and the shape of your hands. Zatoichi Sword January 20, 2012 Reviewer: Murf from Manchester, NH United States   This one is a beauty. The workmanship is really very good in this price range. The blade is very sharp and cuts well but I won't be using it that way. I did have to try it out anyway. Although it is not spelled out in the description, I think this is a 1060 blade. The handle and scabbard fit together seamlessly and the fit is very tight. Like most Musashi swords, you get a lot of sword for the price. This makes a great "gentleman's" walking stick and looks great when displayed. Definitley a good addition to the collection. Was this review helpful to you?

GREAT SWORD FOR A GREAT PRICE December 14, 2011 Reviewer: Hasan Ahun-babaev from Princeton, NJ United States   Was looking an inexpensive blade for my project and this choice is exactly what I was looking for. Blade light and well balanced. First, remember this is much less expensive sword, so expectations may be reasonable, but not too high. Recommend this sword to learn the basics of drawing and cutting. Worth It September 23, 2011 Reviewer: Nicholas Morrison from Orlando, FL United States   This sword is definitely worth the money.  The blade is definitely 1060 carbon monosteel.  The picture doesn't do the sword much justice.  Even the fake hamon looks nice.  It's very sharp.  The blade collar is extremely tight with the sheath, which I believe is a plus. Now I'm going to nit-pick.  It's blade heavy.  Watch your grip while swinging this.  The hilt is very smooth and could easily slide out of your hand.  Wear friction gloves.  On mine, there was a small scratch in the sheath upon arrival and the geometry of the tip was curved to the right by about one or two degrees.  The wood around it is a tad weak.  The peg is also a light wood and could very easily be removed. Don't let those minor things discourage you.  Between the quality and the price, you can't go wrong.  I bought it for tournament kata.  It would also make a great self defense tool for the home.  For cutting practice, I'm not sure I would recommend it because of how incredibly light the hilt is.
