This sword is beautiful in the very traditional sense of the samurai. The samurai found beauty in all things in nature. Since the samurai's life was usually brief they sought beauty in every day life and held a special place for simple beauty.

Carved into the scabbard of this sword in kanji are three of the samurai creeds: " Duty, Loyalty ", " Heroic Courage ", and " Honesty, Justice ". These were the morals and the oath that the samurai lived and died by. The sword of the samurai is what made them powerful, but the creed they lived by is what made them legend.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is stainless steel, already sharpened, with an aesthetic hamon along the edge of the blade. Japanese Kanji are etched into the upper part of the blade.
Saya (Scabbard): The scabbard is made of hard wood coated with a semi gloss finish. The design of the scabbard is very traditional with an ornate steel scabbard throat and an extended black cord wrap sage-o. Kanji are hand carved into the middle of the scabbard.
Tsuba (Guard): The guard of the sword is square cut with a detailed print cast onto both sides. The guard begins with a steel blade collar and ends with a detailed steel Fuchi holding the guard in place.
Tsuka (Handle): The handle is wooden wrapped with a black cotton cord and decorated with steel menuki dragons on each side of the handle providing comfort and grip. The handle ends with a steel Kashira (pommel).
The sword is well balanced and can be used for decoration as well as light practice. This katana is only one piece of the series. Each katana is marked with a different Samurai creed, check them all out then decide who you are.

USN SWORD PROBLEM	March 28, 2011

Hello, As you know, I have not had the USN SWORD that long, and I was waving it around a bit in the house after I opened it and the handle became extremely loose, turning almost all the way around and the guard snapped where it was connected to the bottem of the handle-grip. You can tell the blade's still perfect and all. I didn't abuse it evidently just had a tiny little spot where it had been spot-welded. I didn't realize it at the time but, I know now that you couln't even wave that one around at all. Like to send USN sword back for credit toward more sturdy one,the Robin Hood and the 2 VIKING SWORDS MUCH STRONGER. know that one is much tougher than U.S.N. just by description and specs!
