Overall Length:39 " Blade:Very Sharp Blade Length:28.25 " Blade Width @ Habaki: 1.1” Blade Thickness @ Habaki: 0.1” Blade Width @ Kissaki: 0.6” Blade Thickness @ Kissaki: 0.1” Kissaki Length: 1.5” Sori: 0.3” Blade Material:1060 High Carbon Steel Tsuka Length:10.875 " Tsuka Material:Ray Skin & Cotton Fittings:Blackened Iron Hardness:55 HRC Condition:Brand New Accessories:Sword Bag & Certificate Of Authenticity Features Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from 1060 high carbon steel and has been heat treated. The Hamon and curve of the blade have been authentically created. The curve of the blade has been created as a result of the tempering process. When the blade is quenched the sword is covered with a clay solution, except for the edge of the blade. The blade is then heated and quenched in water drawn from the spring of Longquan. Since the Ha cools much more quickly than the rest of the blade the molecules in the steel expand and force the softer steel to fold back. A Bohi has been added to the blade to lessen the weight and give audible feedback when swung. The Kissaki is a medium length (chu) with a well defined Yokote. The blade is full tang and comes razor sharp. Saya: The Saya is wooden with a burgundy high gloss finish. The Kurigata is wooden with shiny brass fittings. Tied around the Kurigata is a black sageo. The Koi-guchi has been hardened due to laquering. Tsuba: The blade is secured by a one piece brass Habaki. The actual Tsuba is blackened iron with a sukashi (cut out) bamboo pattern. Two brass Seppas secure the tsuba of the sword. Tsuka: The Fuchi is blackened steel with a bamboo branch. The Tsuka core is wooden with authentic Same (ray skin) under black cotton Ito. bamboo August 8, 2011 Reviewer: Darren Jeffrey from North Vancouver, BC Canada   After purchasing the blue saya I was notified it wasn't in stock, so instead of sourcing one elsewhere went with the black.  Blade was great however there was a big crack in the middle of the saya on the side that faces out when on display.  The gloss however wasn't cracked, this leads me to believe it was defective from the factory or the sword you bought from them was a factory second.  The metal ring between the tsuba and above the wrap is also loose.  All in all I'm happy with the purchase for the price. mushashi bamboo katana June 18, 2011 Reviewer: ron adams from albion, MI United States   nice hamon on blade fitting all tight and decent quality for a sword under 100 bucks had to lightly polish blade to bring out more of polish, cuts nice balde is sharp and so far no flaws wrap could be a little better quality but nicley wrapped and no wood showing all in all very pleased.
