Due to its short range, the Blunderbuss never saw much wide spread use on the battle fields of Europe. However, on board a ship, in close quarters, this weapon was devastating. Due to the power of the Blunderbuss the stock was held against the hip or the forearm as the kickback could easily dislocate a shoulder. This Flintlock was like the shotgun of the 18th century.

*Note The stock of the blunderbuss no longer have the dragon.  It comes plain on both sides.
