This sword has been constructed exactly like a hand made Katana, but with a black wooden blade.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword is made of black painted wood and is very light weight.
Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a high gloss black finish. A black cord Sage-O has been tied around the wooden kurigata.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba has been constructed from black wood with a round cut out design.
Tsuka: The Tsuka is wooden with imitation ray skin. Black cord Ito has been wrapped over the Same. Bamboo Mekugi have been added to the sword. Two Menuki decorate each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira features breaking waves.

This sword is very well made! I absolutely love it from the tsuka to the kisaki! (handle to tip) I highly recommend this sword to all who are in martial arts! By the way, you guys weren't kidding when you said this sword is light-weight!!

This sword is well made for the listed price. Although it is extremely light and it has virtually no functionality as a sword, it works great as a sword for show or a cosplay sword where steel blades can sometimes be an issue.

I got this for my son who is way to young for a real sword, but is really into the sword thing. It's going to be his birthday gift from me. The sword looks real until its taken out of the saya. Very cool!

This seemed disappointing at first. I was surprised by exactly how light it is, and feared the thin wood blade would be easily subjected to cracks and warping. I should have sanded the blade down before spray-painting it silver, and the finished look could've come out better. But taking silver spray paint out the box to give it that metallic shine is easy to do and quite appealing for the price and little effort. I also took the charms from underneath the sword rap using surgical pliers and spray-painted them gold to give it a higher-class authentic look. I'm very happy and surprised you can see the bamboo peg on both sides. We will see what my fellow con-goers and security teams and staff of Otakon think of my now obscenely realistic looking katana! Lol I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I even posted a link to this sword from Otakon.com's forum and I also suggested it to my samurai/anime loving friends. Good luck with the business, I can say I'm very happy with my purchase.
