Product Description

Jormungandr: the World Serpent, the child of Loki, and Thor’s fated enemy. This beast of mythological proportions is evoked by this drinking horn. After Odin threw Jormungandr into the ocean, it grew until it could encircle the Earth, and then bit its own tail. In keeping with this globe-encompassing theme, the horn also features an engraving of the Vegvisir, a legendary Norse wayfinder, said to have guided them as they travelled, almost literally around the world. Furthermore, the dragon heads that the Vikings mounted on the prows of their ships in order to terrify their enemies is engraved, encircling the Vegvisir. Finally, the brass on the tip and the brim both serve to give this horn weight and a rustic look, as if it really had been carried by a Viking in search for Vinland.
