Item Specs

This is a practice Aluminum Alloy Katana. The Katana is extremely light weight with a perfect balance. The blade comes full tang and unsharpened. This sword is perfect for practice of Iaito.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from Aluminum Alloy. An aesthetic hamon runs down the edge of the blade and a Bo-Hi rests at the top of the blade. The blade comes full tang, unsharpened with a rounded off edge. The balance of blade is perfect.
Saya: The Saya is constructed from wood with a high gloss black lacquer finish. A black cotton Sageo has been wrapped around the wooden Kurigata.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba is a cut out design constructed from brass.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is bright brass. The Tsuka core is wooden with Same (ray skin). Two Bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the handle. Two brass Menuki are on each side of the Tsuka. Black cotton Ito has been wrapped over the Tsuka.

These alloy competition Katana are without a doubt the best I have ever used, I have won several weapons competitions and these are the most realistic in weight and form I have ever used even down to the replica hamon line on the blade. Awesome product A+++++

I was hoping that this sword would not be like most aluminum swords under $50.00. Most are poorly made and may last a few months before things start to come loose or break. This sword IT'S NOT like most! I was very happy to see this is a very well made sword and has more weight to it then some of the other aluminum swords I've seen. This sword is worth every penney and I would have been willing to pay more if I knew how well it was made before buying it. I have taken Iado for years and now take Haidong Gumdo which places more requirements on the sword due to the longer more complex forms. This sword would be a great practice sword for both arts! I give this sword 5 stars for craftmanship, looks and feel!
