Musashi was the greatest swordsman ever in Japan. It has been recorded that he won no less than 60 sword duels and was never defeated. He was not only the best swordsman but also the author of the book Of Five Rings, teacher of his sword art and talented artist. Musashi was a Samurai in all aspects of the word, and the world may never see another of his caliber.

This is footage from our test cuts with A Musashi Brand 1060 Sword. The Sword is a sub $100 but still held up to single-rolled Wara Mats.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand made with 1060 High Carbon Steel and features a clay tempered hamon.
The blade comes Razor sharp with a full tang design.
Saya: The Saya of the sword is wooden with a black high gloss finish. A black sageo has been tied around the bright brass-fitted Kurigata of the scabbard. The Koiguchi has been hardened.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece brass construction with an engraved Musashi symbol. The Tsuba is black steel with the legendary sukashi Two Cucumbers (double ring) design. Two Seppas secure the Tsuba.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is black steel with a dragon. The Tsuka core is wooden with authentic Same (ray skin) beneath black Ito tsukamaki. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the tang of the sword. Two brass Menuki are on each side of the Tsuka. The Kashira is black steel with a dragon.

The Musashi 1060 clay tempered Katana	January 3, 2012

The Katana weighs roughly 1173 grams. The point of balance is 9.5 cm from Habaki. The Hamon does seem to be clay tempered. This sword is a bit lighter than a 1045 carbon steel Katana. It cuts through objects light butter! It is well made. I am very satisfied with this Katana. Good quality control!

got sword after only 5 days exactly the sword on web site except the Musashi name is on the seppa,not the habaki, the only scratches are on the habaki where it goes in the saya since it fits nice and snug. the saya is very glossy not a single scratch! good tight ito ,tsuka is tight no wobble , everything is very tight, the blade IS very sharp!with no bevel on the ha,polish is good beautiful hamon kissaki is well done with a nice even taper from hilt to tip the quality at this price is outstanding nice sword bag too, as to its cutting ability don`t know judging from its keen edge and proper edge geometry bet it does very well. good balance 4 inches from tsuba. surprised by the quality verses the price like this site since I could use my PayPal to make payment which wasn`t an option on some of the other web sites In short great site Great sword,great service Thanks to the staff at Swords-n-Armory,good job people!

I received katana today and to be honest a very fast shipping to Italy. I opened the box and i was surprised for the quality. The only things disappointed me are little scratches on saya barely visible and the blade that is not perfectly straight. You can notice at almost the end of blade( not so sharp) this bump,you can feel also cleaning the blade. Hope doesn't spoil the efficacy. The tsuka is very tight and i'll need an instrument to remove it. Nothing rattles. Hamon is quite nice. No Musashi logo on habaki (better), on seppa is written the name and a small "china". It's a pity for the blade. Not bad for price but they could made more attention or i had (probably) a katana that was returned.... Who knows????
