The Musashi Katana is one of the finest sub $100 katanas we have found on the market. The blade is very well balanced and features an authentic hamon. The tsuka is well shaped and features two bamboo mekugi. The blade comes very sharp and is fully capable of tameshigiri.

The sword includes a sword bag and certificate of authenticity.

Features

Detailed Specs of the Katana:
Blade: The blade of the sword has been constructed from differentially hardened 1060 carbon steel. The hamon has been authentically created using the traditional method of forging. The blade is very well balanced and comes full tang with a very sharp edge.
Saya: The saya has been constructed from wood with a black high gloss finish. The sageo is black cotton.
Tsuka: The tsuba has been constructed from alloy with a crane and bamboo theme. The fuchigashira feature a wave theme. The ito features alternating crossovers wrapped on top of real ray skin samegawa. Two bamboo mekugi secure the tang of the sword into the tsuka core.

If you read these reviews, then take it from someone who has spent over 40 years in the martial arts - this is a beautiful sword.
We can't walk the streets with a sword at our sides, so we are relegated to in studio demonstrations.
That being said, this sword is not for decoration. It's razor sharp, has a great balance, and when you spin a sharp sword around your body - You WANT balance and quality! This sword delivers on all counts!
First day I received it, I took it out of the box and did my katas (forms) with it and then proceeded to slice and dice a butternut squash as a demonstration for my students. The blade is exquisite and makes a lovely sound slicing through the air. While some practitioners like slicing mats and water bottles, people don't relate to that. But they do relate to cutting a squash and this makes it look so effortless and the thin blade makes perfect slices.
The price is fantastic for a great, serious Bushido demonstration and it looks fantastic!

Arrived razor sharp. Cut a sheet of paper held in one hand edgewise. Highly recommend for the price.

Beautiful sword, the quality was higher than I had expected. The sword and the blade are gorgeous, makes the previously empty wall beside my tv look awesome.

This was my 2nd Musashi 1060. The quality was much improved over the first one I bought. The cotton ito is much less "shoelacy", tighter, and better wrapped than the last one. Also, the blade had less evidence of machining. I think I got my money's worth out of the koshirae alone. And it's differentially hardened - no fake hamon. Not a heavy duty cutter, but ideal for backyard samurai.

great entry level katana!!!!!!!!!!!
did some cutting with it yesterday!!! performed better then expected!!! will recomend it to my students as a beginner katana!!!!
