This is the Iaito version of the Musashi Katana. The sword has been created with the same exceptional quality as its predecessor but with an unedged Ha. The Iaito is the best and safest way to practice the Japanese sword arts and has a feel that is identical to a live blade and more durable than aluminum alloy.

This practice sword is the ideal training tool to safely practice the ancient art of Iaido. It comes with a FREE black cloth sword bag.

The blade of the sword has been hand crafted from through hardened high carbon steel. The blade is full tang and comes unsharpened. The Tsuba has been constructed from blackened steel alloy in the classic Musashi Sukashi Two Cucumbers (double ring) design.

Features

Blade: The blade has been hand crafted from through hardened high carbon steel. A Bohi has been added to the top of the blade to better balance the blade and give audible feedback when the sword is swung. An aesthetic Hamon runs the length of the blade ending at the blade's Kissaki.
The blade is full tang and comes unsharpened.
Saya: The Saya of the sword is constructed of wood with a dull gloss black finish. A black cotton Sageo has been tied around a bright brass-fitted Kurigata. The Koiguchi has been hardened to safely secure the blade when sheathed.
Tsuba: The Habaki is a solid one piece brass construction over a brass Seppa. The Tsuba has been constructed from blackened steel alloy in the classic Musashi Sukashi Two Cucumbers (double ring) design.
Tsuka: The Fuchi is blackened steel. The Tsuka core is hard wood with authentic Same (ray skin) and black cotton Ito. Brass Menuki decorate each side of the Tsuka. Two Bamboo Mekugi secure the tang in the Tsuka. The Kashira is blackened steel.

Decent blade, feels solid.
Kashira fell off after two swings, the ito is loose.
After removing the mekugi (lot of trouble) the blade seems to be stuck in the tsuka.

The iaito comes in quite good quality.
It is, regarding traditional specs of blades (iaito and katana), different and is definately on the light sword (point of balance towards to the tsuba).

It is perfect for initial sword training (stepping up from bokken/bokuto) and to get into the feeling of handling a sword.

i would say this was a great buy. a great sword for the price. the only downside is the hamon. i think it would have look better without it. but hey, if thats all thats bad, its great. has a good weight and solid build.
